[artist profile]
Corinna Gosmaro (Savigliano, 1987) is an Italian artist based in Paris. Her work focuses on reflections about the human being as a global cultural entity and him/her timeless characteristics. The practice is based on the process activated through the interactions with the environment. Going back and forth on the border between painting and sculpture, the work draws this journey throughout the history of our culture. The possibility of engaging different patterns elucidating the distinction between the work and its display represents another step further in Gosmaro’s practice.
Corinna Gosmaro has exhibited in many institutional spaces, including at Fondazione Memmo Rome, American Academy in Rome, GAMeC Bergamo, Fondazione Pastificio Cerere Rome, Schafhof Künstlerhaus Oberbayern Freisung. In 2018 she took part in the residency programme at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (from which she has been selected through the main programme Les lauréats). In 2018 she was awarded with the Talent Prize and in 2019 with the Italian Fellowship for Visual Art at the American Academy in Rome.
